Global Sourcing Specialist

Job Title: Global Sourcing Specialist
Department: Materials Management
Reports To: Director of Supply Chain
FLSA: Exempt

Summary: The Global Sourcing Specialist is responsible for implementing sourcing strategies and onboarding qualified suppliers in support of Delta Systems value-add initiatives, for monitoring and improving supplier performance, for ensuring compliance to Delta Systems requirements and expectations, for driving supply base continuous improvement with respect to performance and lowest total cost, for ensuring new components are sourced, qualified, and delivered in a timely manner to support Delta Systems timelines, and for leading corporate value-add initiatives.

Day to day activities include but are not limited to:
Identifies, negotiates with, qualifies, and on-boards new Delta Systems suppliers who can meet quality, regulatory, landed cost, and delivery requirements for current and new components.
Maintains ERP System part master and supplier data integrity.
Drives cost reduction and purchase price optimization initiatives
Collaborates with internal customers to resolve supplier-related issues.
Participates in multifunctional New Product Development meetings, including providing timely, accurate, and competitive RFQ’s for prototypes, tooling, and production parts, updating part master records, issuing PO’s, and ensuring timely arrival of components from supplier to Delta Systems.
Executes planning and purchasing functions for assigned commodities/suppliers
Manages information flow and coordinates meetings between Delta Systems personnel and suppliers and conducts supplier assessment audits to ensure project timelines and expectations are met or exceeded.
Creates and maintains benchmark commodity data and market trends in electronics, metals, and plastics to drive improvement strategies and ensure competitive pricing and availability of supply.
Conducts RFQ’s for freight and other services as required

Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Education and/or Experience:
The preferred Delta Systems Global Sourcing Specialist has at least five years working knowledge of the global electronics industry, has extensive experience in international electronic components sourcing, negotiating, and life cycle management, and is knowledgeable in current and future electronic industry trends.
Bachelor's degree in business or technical discipline or minimum 5 years of experience in the field of electronics sourcing or supply chain in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.

Preferred professional association certification (APICS, CPSM)

Global Sourcing Position

In this role you might:
Maintain responsibility for Global Procurement to sustain daily production without interruption to plan.
Develop/manage supplier relationships to achieve best value.
Manage the global supply process for all goods and services
Coordinator activies involved with continuous replenishment

Job Duties Include:
Supports Strategic Sourcing Plans, including budget and price forecasts
Develops solid knowledge of global feedstock markets, global suppliers, industries and technologies to proactively manage financial and supply risk
Negotiate and establish written Agreements in accordance with Sourcing Plans
Monitors contractual obligations for compliance and resolve disputes with vendors
Understand forecasts and capacities for internal and external production to ensure resource and capacity availability
Works with cross functional areas of Supply Chain and suppliers
Maintains Procure to Pay system ERP data for information integrity
Places and Maintains purchase orders per vendor confirmations; Ensures POs are received and processed by the vendor in a timely manner
Maintains timely and accurate SAP system information as it relates to lead times, purchase order maintenance, deliver dates, releases and lot sizes for assigned items

Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related fields - or - 5 years of relevant procurement experience preferred
2-year degree with minimum one-year relevant planning and procurement experience required
Experience with integrated purchasing/MRP information systems (prefer SAP experience)
CPM or CPSM or APCIS certification preferred
Experience with six sigma and lean manufacturing desired.
